In most times when we meet our clients to discuss the job description; our clients always care most about the dust on their counter tops and desks and toilets. They hardly talk about the bacteria that surround their business most traffic areas even doctors whom we thought were more educated in health and safety.

In the world of cleaning, we as business owners need to educate ourselves and our clients on how we clean and sanitize the surfaces we care for. Bacteria growth is a big concern for our clients because they want to protect their family members, employees, customers and visitors from unhealthy environments.

Understanding bacteria and how it grows and moves is one of the starting points in learning how to keep the environments we care for.

Bacteria Reproduction Facts:

Bacteria reproduce by dividing. Once the cell reaches its maximum size it starts to come together in the middle and eventually breaks in two. This process can take 15 to 30 minutes.\
In just 5 hours, one bacterium can turn into over 1 million bacteria.
Since you would rarely start with just 1 bacterium on any given surface, you can see where bacteria can spread into millions and billions of bacteria very quickly.
How Bacteria Spread:
Bacteria don't spread on their own. Here are some ways bacteria find their way to other surfaces.

People are carriers of bacteria and can pass the bacteria to others in a variety of ways.
They can travel through the air when someone sneezes.
We deposit them on objects we touch, so bacteria can literally be anywhere. This is why cleaning companies must pay particular attention to "touch points" like door knobs, telephones and desk tops when cleaning and disinfecting.
Animals such as pets and insects can carry bacteria.
Methods of Killing Bacteria:

Heat - this method can include sterilization (steam machine under pressure), moist heat (autoclaves), boiling, and dry heat (hot air sterilization).
Cold - cold doesn't actually kill bacteria, but it inhibits the growth.
Direct sunlight or ultraviolet light.
Chemical Agents like disinfectants or germicides.
By having an understanding of bacteria and how it spreads, you can make more informed choices on the products you choose to use and what areas may be at higher risk of bacteria growth.*

"KK Cleaning Services, most of the time ask their customers if they are please to share our products or have their own choice on the products or the method to be use on an area of higher risk of bacteria growth"

How Much Does the House Cleaning Cost? An Honest Discussion with a Professional Maid Service, Estarina

Before I started owning this cleaning business, I was in a maid service since 1994; most of my customers are wealthy folks and diplomats. They were likely to hire a full time maid service because of their social status, which they pay decently on a monthly bases plus bonus, which is pretty good money but the disadvantage of that is you have to sacrifice your family and friends especially when they have a special gathering days at the house. The cost of house cleaning for such people haven’t been in question as well as you’re honest, faithful, and doing an A++ maid service job.

When I owned my cleaning business most of my customers are middle class families which required their houses to be cleaned weekly, biweekly or monthly on a fixed rate per cleaning visit starting from $80.00 to $350.00  depend on the size of the house and the frequency of the service. Some customers prefer an online quote, which seems good for certain companies to give them a quote based on an hourly rate from $20.00-$35.00 and sometimes $ 45.00 per one person without knowing the condition or the exact size of the house, The advantage of an hourly rate for cleaning companies, they can send any maid service even under training to make hours. For me this is not a sincere business, a good business must balance the certification of both client and the company. For example, the customer needs her house to be cleaned thoroughly to reflect her social status or internal beauty of the house, meanwhile the cleaning company needs to cover the direct and indirect costs such as supplies, gas, insurance and taxes plus a marginal profit in order to survive in the business.

In addition, charging by the hour is like saying I can take hours of cleaning as long as I want and it doesn’t matter how thorough the job is. My advice to both cleaning companies and the customers,” If you really want to establish a good relationship, the customer should have to be ready when she wants a maid service and what budget she/he is willing to sacrifice for the whole year. Also, the customers should investigate the prospective cleaning company thoroughly on whether it is Insured, Bonded or licensed or has any complaint raise against them in the previous years and if it was resolved or not, you can check the cleaning company background on this website www.bbb.org. Then the customer should invite the cleaning company to take a look at the house with a list of the jobs needed to be cleaned most often.

The matter of how much does the house cleaning cost, for me is unfair.  It is better for both party to be honest not to disagree on differences of $20.00 in comparison to the value of the house and its belongings. Imagine if you were in the position of a cleaning company. How much would you charge for the house cleaning in order to cover the cost? How much respect should both the owner of the house and maid service pay in order to treat that valuable house and restore its internal image?

For any questions please feel free to email me. Attention: Sister Estarina at franciswani02@hotmail.com and I’ll shortly discuss with you what will be best for your interest to keep your property valuable.
